Lynn Ryan Youngman, Ryan’s Mother
TAIG has enabled my son to develop his own separate life as a young man in the community, away from his family, working toward his independence.
I think this is all possible because of TAIG’s greatest asset, committed staff. TAIG’s process to match staff with consumers is phenomenal. In
fact, the TAIG staff is like a family, taking consumers into the community, helping to teach life skills, and pushing them to grow to the best of
their abilities. I feel better knowing that my son is in a safe, stimulating environment with a full medical staff available to us at all times
should the need arise.
TAIG has the best staff in town – just ask my son!
Pat Howell, David’s Sister
In winter 2007, my family and I were in a situation that seemed like a never-ending nightmare. I had been trying for nearly a year to find my brother,
David, a safe place to live. His roommate had beaten him up several times and no one seemed concerned for his welfare. It broke my heart to see what
he was going through.
Finally, the Office of Mental Retardation told us about TAIG. From the moment I met the staff from TAIG, I was optimistic that I had finally found a
residential provider that could care for my brother.
His caretakers from TAIG had visited David in the hospital every day and got to know him. In the meantime, people from TAIG showed me several
apartments and allowed me to choose one for David. They gave me the names and phone numbers of all of their administrators, staff members, and
people who would be involved with David’s well being.
After David was released from the hospital, one of TAIG’s staff members, Florence, visited with him, and I saw David smile from ear to ear. He looked
really good, better than I had seen him look in a long time. TAIG staff also found David a place for dialysis and his caretakers accompany him to
treatment, keeping me informed about his progress.
Since David has been with TAIG, I have real peace of mind knowing that he is getting the care he deserves. I am thrilled to be associated with TAIG and
all of the wonderful people involved in my brother’s care. The staff is always available to answer all of my questions and discuss any concerns I may
have. I sincerely appreciate all they do for my brother and me. I am so grateful to have found TAIG.
